Garage Door Repair

Off-track doors, snapped cables, bent panels, dead openers. We diagnose the whole system, not just the part that broke.

Overview

A garage door is the largest moving object in most homes, and when it fails it usually fails at the worst possible moment. Our technicians carry the common failure parts on the truck, so the majority of repair calls are finished in a single visit.

Signs you need this

What it looks like when this is the problem

If any of these match what your door is doing, this is the service to book.

01

Door reverses before it closes

Usually a misaligned or dirty photo-eye sensor, a worn limit switch, or a roller binding in the track.

02

Loud bang, then nothing

Almost always a broken torsion spring. Do not try to lift the door manually — the counterbalance is gone.

03

Door is crooked or jammed

A cable has slipped off its drum or the door has come off track. Stop using the opener immediately.

04

Grinding, scraping or screeching

Dry or cracked rollers, loose hinges, or a worn opener gear. Cheap to fix now, expensive to ignore.

05

Remote works, wall button doesn't (or vice versa)

A wiring fault, failed logic board, or a receiver that lost its programming.

06

Door drifts down on its own

The spring balance has drifted out of spec. It is a safety issue long before it is a convenience issue.

Questions

In most cases yes. Calls placed before mid-afternoon are usually completed the same day, and we hold slots open each day for doors that are stuck open or unsafe.

Often, yes. Panels and hardware are replaceable, and a door in good structural condition can be rebuilt for a fraction of a full replacement. If the door is rusted through or the panels are cracked, we will tell you plainly that replacement is the better value.

TODO(client): confirm your diagnostic fee policy. Placeholder: the service call fee is waived when you proceed with the repair.
